simple things

Today made me realize a lot of the simpler things in life that make me happy. I played a softball game today. My best friend was with me along with my family, and I couldn’t have asked for a better day.

I love catching fly balls and having the other team congratulate me on an excellent catch. I love watching my 50 year old parents run after grounders and swear that they’re young enough to be able to cope with the workout. I love seeing my littler siblings at the sidelines yelling for me as I go up to bat. I love that no matter what you can always find a smile on someone’s face at that game.

I love that we lost, because it means the red team was able to win. I loved taking a walk with my grandmother’s dog and enjoying the sunshine on my face. I love that each landmark in Medina makes me appreciate living here. It’s where I grew up, I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

I love my siblings more than anything else in the world. I love having them to turn to, to laugh with, to joke around. It’s absolutely wonderful to be so close to them. I love having friends that I can call in a second, and they’ll be there for me.

I love picking wildflowers with my little brother, and him telling me that Eric’s stupid for not wanting to see me anymore. He’s only six, but wise beyond his years. I love that I enjoy the rain, especially when it leaves a rainbow.

I love God and all he gave me. I love that he’s teaching me a lesson by taking things away, and I love that he’s giving me all the oppurtunity in the world to be all that I can be.

All I ask is for a little more pull in the right direction. That would be quite nice.
